Celebrating 25 Years, AesthetiCare Medspa + Wellness remains Kansas City’s go-to for innovation, education, and results.

When AesthetiCare Medspa + Wellness opened its doors in 2001, the medspa industry looked nothing like it does today. Twenty-five years, four Kansas City-area locations, and thousands of client relationships later, the practice has become one of the largest aesthetic centers in the country, and it is marking the milestone the way it knows best: with a party.
“This party we’ve been doing since inception when we opened in 2001,” said Karen Cobb, marketing director for AesthetiCare. “We call it our End of Summer Party. In our industry, laser season really kicks off after the summer season. People have been in the sun, so it’s the perfect time to talk lasers, skincare and creating a plan!”
The 25th Annual End of Summer Party takes place Thursday, September 24, from 3 to 7 p.m. at AesthetiCare’s flagship 9225 Ward Parkway location in Kansas City. True to form, this year’s celebration is the largest one yet, with more than $100,000 in giveaways, live treatment demonstrations, a digital prize wheel, and an entire afternoon of experiences spread across a 40-by-80 tent and the practice’s 20,000-square-foot building.
“I think what makes it really unique is it’s not just about us,” Cobb said. “We work really hard to team up with other small businesses in our community, and throw a party that you don’t want to miss.”
This year’s guest list includes Dj Ashton Martin, a mobile perfume bar, a charm and ear-piercing bar, custom lip gloss and engraving stations, boutique shopping, catering and a live radio broadcast. Guests can also expect Kansas City’s EZpedicab on site to ride back to their car in style.
As part of the celebration, AesthetiCare is partnering with Do Like Duke, a local nonprofit founded in memory of Duke Ommert, a ten-year-old whose spirit of kindness, courage, inclusion, and a passion for sports, inspired those around him. The organization helps cover the cost of youth sports for local families. Guests can contribute through a checkout top-up feature during AesthetiCare’s End of Summer Sale, which runs online and in-office from September 24 through 30, with savings of 20 percent across many treatments and products.
Throughout the party, AesthetiCare providers will perform live demonstrations of some of the practice’s most requested treatments, including HydraFacial, microneedling, permanent makeup, Emsculpt and Emeslla, injectables, Sciton lasers, CoolSculpting, Sofwave and more.
“There’s something to be said about seeing these treatments firsthand,” Cobb said. “Aesthetics can feel intimidating when you don’t know what to expect. People wonder, ‘Does it hurt? What does it actually look like?’ Here, you can pop into a room, ask questions and see a treatment happening in real time. Sometimes seeing how approachable it really is can put your mind at ease.”

A Quarter Century of Growth

AesthetiCare has not stayed in one place, literally or figuratively, over the past twenty-five years. The practice has grown from its original location to four across the Kansas City metro: the Ward Parkway flagship, Liberty, Lenexa and, as of May 2026, South Overland Park near the Bluhawk area.
Overseeing care across AesthetiCare’s locations is a robust medical team led by Dr. Amy Carter, a board-certified OB-GYN with extensive experience in women’s health, healthy aging, wellness and aesthetic medicine. She is joined by Meredith Keller, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, Medical Director of AesthetiCare Lenexa, and Erin Miles, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, Medical Director of AesthetiCare Overland Park, who is also Menopause Certified and brings additional expertise in hormone health and wellness.

At AesthetiCare’s Kansas City location, Richard Korentager, MD, FACS, a board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 40 years of experience leads the practice’s surgical offerings.
That internal clinical leadership is further supported by AesthetiCare’s Medical Advisory Board, which brings together specialists across dermatology, plastic surgery, OB-GYN, wellness and aesthetics to provide additional expertise and collaboration around client care.
“We are primarily women-driven, but that doesn’t mean men aren’t on the aesthetic side as well as the wellness side,” Cobb said. Men make up a growing share of AesthetiCare’s clientele, seeking neurotoxin treatments, facials, Miradry for sweat and odor reduction, CoolSculpting, hormone replacement therapy and GLP-1 weight management programs.

Where to Start

For clients unsure where to begin among AesthetiCare’s more than 70 FDA-approved treatment options, the practice offers a complimentary one-hour aesthetic consultation. Providers use advanced imaging technology that looks beneath the skin’s surface to assess concerns like sun damage, pigmentation, texture, pores and wrinkles, helping providers create more personalized treatment and skincare plans.
“We want to start with a real conversation so you understand who we are, what we offer and what might make sense for you,” Cobb said. “From there, we can really dial in on your concerns, expectations and budget, then build a plan around your goals. And as we move forward with treatments, we want to be able to show you the progress and make sure what we’re doing is actually delivering results.”
Clients with concerns that go beyond the surface, such as fatigue, brain fog, sleep issues or changes in overall well-being, can take a deeper look through a dedicated wellness consultation. AesthetiCare’s nurse practitioners review health history, symptoms and lab work to help identify potential underlying factors and create a personalized plan. The practice also has expertise in areas such as gut health, including evaluation of the microbiome, hormones, metabolic health and other factors that can impact how clients look and feel.

Popular Treatments

Among AesthetiCare’s most requested services is Sciton BBL, a broadband light laser treatment that targets sun damage and pigmentation with virtually no downtime.
“I always say BBL is one of those treatments I’d put almost everyone I love on,” Cobb said. “Yes, it’s incredible for sun damage, redness and pigment, but what sold me is the science behind it. A Stanford study found that after BBL, gene-expression patterns in older skin became more similar to those of younger skin. So, for me, it’s not just about correcting what you see in the mirror today. It’s about being proactive with how your skin ages.”
CoolSculpting, a fat-freezing treatment, and Sofwave, an ultrasound-based skin-tightening technology, also rank among the practice’s top sellers, along with injectables like Botox and Dysport. AesthetiCare describes its approach to injectables with a simple philosophy.
“Our injectable motto is the best injectable is the least detectable,” Cobb emphasized. “We don’t want you looking different. We want you looking like you, refreshed, as young and vibrant as you feel.”
For clients dealing with thinning hair, AesthetiCare offers the Revian LED cap, a device worn for ten minutes at a time to stimulate regrowth, often paired with growth-factor and exosome serums or the supplement Nutrafol. The practice also offers Upneeq, a prescription eye drop that lifts and brightens the eye for clients with drooping eyelids, and blepharoplasty performed by Dr. Korentager for clients seeking a more permanent solution.
One of AesthetiCare’s newest surgical offerings is Preservé by Motiva, a tissue-preserving approach to breast augmentation designed for women seeking a more natural-looking enhancement with a smaller implant and less disruption to the surrounding tissue.
“It’s a really exciting option for someone who wants a more subtle enhancement,” Cobb said. “The technique creates a precise pocket for the implant through a smaller incision and can be performed without general anesthesia. It’s a very different experience from what many people picture when they think of traditional breast augmentation.”

Comfort and Accessibility

AesthetiCare works to make treatments comfortable through topical numbing agents, cooling devices and Pro-Nox, an inhaled option that helps clients relax during procedures. The practice also offers a membership program, in which clients pay a set monthly amount into an account that earns a 10 percent credit toward future services.
“Everybody has their own budget, and life changes too,” Cobb said. “We’re very mindful of that and work with our clients.”
Clients who prefer not to visit in person can shop AesthetiCare’s medical-grade skincare and supplements through its online store without booking an appointment.

A Legacy Built on Training

AesthetiCare also houses a national training facility within its buildings, where staff train other aesthetic professionals from around the country and internationally.
“That’s something really important to know. You’re being treated by some of the most highly trained providers in the industry, right here in Kansas City,” Cobb said. “I recently heard there are almost more medspas in America than McDonald’s. In a rapidly growing industry, we’re incredibly diligent about the training and continued education of our team.”

That commitment has helped earn AesthetiCare recognition as one of the top ten medspas by AMSPA, a 2025 Best Places to Work honor from the Kansas City Business Journal, and distinction as the first clinic in the world to offer Sciton’s HALO laser technology.
As AesthetiCare looks toward its next chapter, Cobb said the goal remains the same as it was in 2001: helping clients feel confident in their own skin.

“So, as our invitation states, Bring a friend, Ask questions, Watch a treatment, Build a lip gloss, Make a perfume and most importantly, come celebrate twenty-five years with us!” Cobb exclaimed.
