The Best is Right Here At Home

Story by Jeanie Edgmon
AesthetiCare brings its award-winning expertise south, opening its fourth location in Overland Park.
Imagine walking into a medspa where the team has spent months training under world-class experts, supported by some of the most advanced technology in the industry, in the world! That is not a fantasy destination in Beverly Hills or Manhattan; it is a Tuesday afternoon in Kansas City. And now, it will be even closer to home for thousands of Johnson County residents.
AesthetiCare Medspa + Wellness, the region’s most award-laden aesthetic practice, opened its fourth location at 7500 West 160th Street in South Overland Park, just off 69 Highway. The sprawling 4,700-square-foot facility officially opened its doors in April 2026 and is celebrating with a Grand Opening evening event May 7th, featuring light bites, cocktails, curated pop-up experiences, and the chance to meet the full clinical team. It is the practice’s third satellite location, joining its flagship on Ward Parkway in Kansas City and established offices in Liberty, Missouri, and Lenexa, Kansas.

Twenty-Five Years of Setting the Standard
For more than two decades, AesthetiCare has built a national reputation. The practice has earned recognition as one of the Top 10 Medical Spas in the United States by the American Med Spa Association, earned the title of “World’s Greatest Medspa” in a feature on national television, and the Kansas City Business Journal named as 2025 Champion of Business and, separately, awarded first place in the small-business category of coveted Best Places to Work list.
The accolades extend deep into the aesthetic industry itself. AesthetiCare ranks in the top one percent of Allergan accounts in the nation, a distinction earned through sheer volume and expertise in treatments including Botox, dermal fillers, and CoolSculpting. And in a milestone that speaks to the practice’s desire to bring the best treatments to area patients, AesthetiCare was the very first facility in the world to offer the Sciton HALO laser when it was introduced, a hybrid fractional laser now considered one of the gold standards in skin resurfacing.
“We strive to be defined by our expertise, customer service, and involvement within the communities we serve,” explained Matt Taranto, Owner, AesthetiCare.

The Facility That Trains the World
Perhaps the most striking credential AesthetiCare carries is one that most clients never think to ask about: it is a nationally recognized training facility. The practice has trained more than 2,500 clinics worldwide, making it not merely a destination for patients but a source of expertise for the broader aesthetic industry. When med spas across the country want to elevate the skill level of their injectors or laser technicians, they come to Kansas City.
Owners Matt and Kathy Taranto, Dr. Amy Carter and Plastic Surgeon Dr. Richard Korentager point to this distinction when they talk about the misperception that world-class aesthetic care can only be found on the coasts. “Many people assume that they would get better med spa services in places like Los Angeles,” he says. “What they may not know is that we are the facility that trains other med spas. The best is right here at home.”

A Team Built in Advance
Opening a new AesthetiCare location is not simply a matter of leasing space and hanging a sign. The practice’s approach to staffing its Overland Park facility illustrates the level of intention behind every expansion. Every new hire for the location was brought on board months before the doors opened, spending that time training at AesthetiCare’s existing facilities, learning its protocols, its culture, and its clinical philosophy from the inside out. Several long-tenured staff members from other locations have also transitioned to the new site, ensuring that clients will be greeted by experienced hands from day one.
That kind of preparation reflects what Taranto describes as a deep respect for the client’s choice. “We realize that Medspa services are an ‘extra’ and that clients can spend that money anywhere they choose,” he says. “We try to honor that by being the best.”

An Expansive Menu, a Conservative Philosophy
They will offer an expansive list of the most popular treatments. The treatment menu spans four broad pillars: injectables, body contouring, skin rejuvenation, and longevity. Within those categories, the breadth is remarkable. Injectables include Botox, Daxxify, Dysport, a full range of dermal fillers, Sculptra, and Skinvive. Body contouring options include CoolSculpting Elite, Sofwave, and several others. On the skin side, patients can access the Sciton HALO laser, Moxi, BBL, HydraFacial, microneedling, chemical peels, and a long list of specialized facials and medical-grade treatments. The longevity pillar is equally robust, featuring weight management, hormone replacement therapy, vitamins, supplements and peptide therapy, guided by a menopause-certified Medical Director, Erin Miles, and rooted in a thoughtful, medical approach to long-term wellness.
The intention behind offering such a wide range of technologies is not volume for its own sake. Taranto frames it as a long-term commitment to each patient with treatments to span the course of our adult lives. “We offer the most expansive line of treatments and technologies because we are not aiming to treat one issue,” he explains. “We aim to become our client’s lifetime anti-aging consultant.”
That philosophy extends to how the team approaches injectables in particular. Where some practices lean toward dramatic transformations, AesthetiCare’s guiding principle is the opposite. “We take a safe, conservative approach and believe that the best injectable is the least detectable,” Taranto says. New patients are welcomed with a complimentary one-hour aesthetic consultation, a conversation designed not to sell, but to educate, listen, and build an individualized plan that addresses both in-office treatments and at-home skincare.

Bringing Excellence Closer to Home
The strategic reason for the Overland Park expansion is convenience: bringing more services closer to more people. South Johnson County has long been one of the fastest-growing corridors in the Kansas City metro, and for residents in Overland Park, Stilwell, and surrounding communities, travel time to any of the three existing AesthetiCare offices could be a genuine barrier. The new location, conveniently situated off 69 Highway near 159th Street, closes that gap.
But access is only part of the story. AesthetiCare has always understood that the experience of care, the warmth of the staff, the quality of a consultation, and the feel of an environment matter as much as the treatments themselves. “Most med spas offer similar services, so med spas can’t be defined by treatment,” Taranto says. “We strive to be defined by our expertise, customer service, and involvement within the communities we serve. That is important to us.”

Rooted in the Community It Serves
Community involvement is not an afterthought for AesthetiCare. It is woven into the identity of the practice. The company donates to and actively supports a range of causes across the Kansas City metro, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Deron Cherry Foundation, and the Rose Brooks Center, a local organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence. The Grand Opening event itself, designed to feel like a neighborhood celebration with local food vendors, neighborly connections, and invitations for anyone curious about aesthetic wellness can always come in, look around, and ask questions.
“We love being a part of KC and love giving back,” Taranto says simply.
For the people of South Overland Park and the surrounding communities, the opening of AesthetiCare’s fourth location is an opportunity to access something genuinely rare: a practice that has trained the world, earned the industry’s highest honors, and still believes its most important job is the consultation it gives you on a Tuesday afternoon. The best, it turns out, really is right here at home.
