After completing his residency in 1992, he established his practice in Kansas City, focusing initially on obstetrics and gynecology. His approach was simple yet profound: treat patients as if they were family.
“My parents lived in a time when all services were delivered with a different level of care and personal involvement. I have watched how that has changed, even in medicine. My goal has always been to retain as much personal care and involvement in treating my patients as possible. They deserve that investment, and it produces much better results,” Dr. Mirabile explained about his approach to care.

“Women’s bodies are phenomenal and go through incredible changes throughout their lives, from puberty and reproductive years to perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause. As you can imagine, this can take a toll on a body and it expresses itself in many ways,” Dr. Mirabile shared. “Unfortunately, not enough attention is given to this area of healthcare.”
Recognizing the limitations of conventional treatments, Dr. Mirabile introduced bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, offering an effective solution for his patients affected by symptoms associated with the menopause journey.
Explaining the 2002 Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) study which was a landmark research initiative on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that suggested HRT increased the risks of stroke, heart disease, and breast cancer, Dr. Mirabile explained how it led to a significant decline in HRT use among postmenopausal women.
“Since that time, the study was found to be significantly biased, and later findings suggest benefits for certain groups of women. Not everyone knows this, however, and many women are suffering needlessly from completely treatable symptoms.”
His pioneering work in this area has been transformative. Dr. Mirabile was among the first in the Kansas City area to offer SottoPelle® therapy, a hormone replacement pellet therapy method that has significantly improved the quality of life for many women. In 2013, he expanded this service to include men suffering from low testosterone and andropause, further broadening the scope of his practice.
