The BEAUTY of being in GOOD HANDS

Story by Jeanie Edgmon
At All Things Face Med Spa, personalized care, honest guidance, and a team that put relationships first create an experience built around trust.

Choosing an aesthetic treatment can be surprisingly personal. It also takes a level of vulnerability, talking about the things you’d like to change, the features you’d prefer to preserve, and the results you hope to see when you look in the mirror. It also means placing your trust in someone else’s knowledge, judgment, and hands. At All Things Face Med Spa, that trust is the foundation of the experience, shaping everything from the first conversation to the care clients receive along the way.
For founders Erin Shields and Geri Fuhrman, creating a welcoming, low-pressure environment has always been central to their vision. Clients are given time to discuss their concerns, explore options, and understand what different treatments can realistically accomplish. Recommendations are personalized, expectations are honest, and the goal is never to persuade someone to do more than they need or want.
Instead, the team takes the time to understand the individual. Because feeling good about an aesthetic treatment begins with feeling comfortable with the person providing it.

Geri & Erin
A Shared Vision of Care
Shields and Fuhrman had worked together for more than a decade before building All Things Face, giving them an established professional relationship and a shared understanding of the kind of practice they wanted to create.
Shields’ 12 years in the medical aesthetics industry began on the provider side, specializing in body contouring and skin-tightening lasers. After five years, she transitioned into management, where she gained a deeper understanding of the business while recognizing how strongly leadership and team dynamics could influence the client experience. She wanted to create an environment where talented providers felt supported, clients received thoughtful attention, and the quality of care remained the priority.
That vision continues to shape her role as founder and managing partner. Team development is a central focus, reflecting her belief that the right people, working together with a shared purpose, make a meaningful difference in the experience a practice can offer.
“For me, it always comes back to the relationships,” Shields explains. “I want clients to feel heard, comfortable, and confident that we’re looking out for their best interests. That starts with having the right team, people who genuinely care about what they do and the people they care for.”
Fuhrman brings extensive clinical experience to that shared vision. A registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Central Missouri State University, she began her nursing career in critical care before moving into medical aesthetics in 2007. Her combined years of experience as a nurse and injector have shaped an approach that emphasizes facial balance, careful assessment, and natural-looking results.
The founders’ backgrounds complement one another, but it is their shared philosophy that connects them. Both understand that an excellent client experience involves more than technical expertise. It also requires listening, communicating clearly, and making people feel comfortable enough to ask questions and express their concerns.
The Value of Being Heard
Anyone exploring aesthetic treatments can quickly encounter an overwhelming range of options. Injectables, facials, lasers, peels, and skin-rejuvenation treatments each offer different possibilities, but understanding which approach is appropriate is challenging without knowledgeable guidance.
At All Things Face, consultations are an opportunity to slow down and have that conversation. The team takes time to understand what a client hopes to achieve, discuss suitable options, and explain what a treatment can and cannot do. Clients aren’t expected to arrive knowing which procedure they need, and they aren’t pressured to make decisions before they’re ready.
That matters in an industry where expectations can be influenced by social media, trends, and images that don’t always reflect realistic outcomes. Honest conversations help clients understand their options and make informed decisions based on their own goals, rather than someone else’s idea of beauty.
For Fuhrman, that means approaching each face as an individual, with its own proportions, features, and needs. Her philosophy favors conservative treatment plans designed to help clients look refreshed and relaxed without appearing overdone.
“My goal is for someone to leave looking refreshed and still feeling like themselves,” Fuhrman says. “I believe in taking a conservative approach, being honest about what a treatment can accomplish, and never making someone feel they need to do more than they’re comfortable with.”
That approach doesn’t mean every client needs the same treatment or that results should always be subtle to the same degree. It means recommendations should reflect the person, their preferences, and what is appropriate for their circumstances. Sometimes a carefully selected treatment can make a meaningful difference. Sometimes the most helpful part of a consultation is understanding why a particular procedure may not be the right choice.
The practice offers a broad range of services, including neurotoxins, dermal fillers, facials, laser treatments, chemical peels, microneedling, collagen stimulators, and platelet-rich plasma therapies. This lets the team address different concerns, ranging from uneven skin tone and texture to facial volume and signs of aging, with an individualized approach.
A Place Designed for Comfort
The sense of personal attention extends beyond the consultation room. All Things Face occupies a standalone building tucked away from the usual bustle of busy commercial areas, offering a setting that feels private and removed from the rush of everyday life.
It isn’t necessarily the kind of business someone stumbles upon while running errands. Many people find their way there because they’ve heard about the practice from someone they trust or have been looking for a more personal approach to aesthetic care. Its discreet location complements an atmosphere designed to make clients feel welcome and at ease.
Creating that environment starts with the team itself. Shields values supportive leadership and team chemistry, recognizing that the way colleagues work together influences the experience clients receive. A collaborative, caring team helps foster an
atmosphere where people can discuss personal concerns without feeling judged or rushed.
“When people feel supported and valued, it changes the way they show up for others,” Shields says. “I want our team to enjoy working together and to feel good about the care they’re providing. When that happens, clients can feel the difference, too.”
The practice also understands that personalized service sometimes means accommodating practical needs. When possible, the team can arrange access outside regular business hours for clients who need additional flexibility. It’s another example of a willingness to consider the person behind the appointment and make the experience work for them whenever circumstances allow.
These details may not appear on a treatment menu, but they contribute to something clients often value just as much as the services themselves: the feeling that their time, comfort, and individual needs matter.
Care That Extends Beyond the Treatment Room
People seek aesthetic care for many reasons. Some want to soften the visible effects of aging. Others are interested in improving skin health, addressing a specific concern, or simply looking a little more refreshed. Their goals, preferences, and comfort levels are as individual as the treatments they choose.
At All Things Face, the emphasis on relationships allows those differences to guide the experience. Clients can ask questions, take time to consider recommendations, and approach their aesthetic goals without feeling that they need to meet a particular standard or pursue every available treatment.
The founders’ commitment to care also reaches into the surrounding community. All Things Face participates in events supporting breast cancer awareness, muscular dystrophy causes, and local animal shelters, reflecting an interest in
contributing to causes that matter beyond the practice.
Ultimately, being in good hands means knowing that someone is listening, that recommendations are made thoughtfully, and that honest guidance matters more than making a sale. It means having access to experience and expertise while retaining the freedom to decide what feels right for you.
For Shields, Fuhrman, and their team, that is the kind of relationship worth building. Treatments and technologies will continue to evolve, but the value of personal attention, sound judgment, and genuine care remains constant.
The most meaningful result may be a smoother complexion, a refreshed appearance, or greater confidence when looking in the mirror. Just as important is knowing that the journey was guided by people who took the time to understand you, respected your choices, and helped you feel comfortable every step of the way.
